The Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Toolkit (HECVAT) uses this information to identify and track your organization throughout the assessment process.
Why it's asked: This is a basic identification question that establishes who is being assessed. It allows the assessor to:
- Properly document which entity is providing responses
- Verify the legal entity against other documentation
- Ensure consistency throughout the assessment
- Enable proper record-keeping and follow-up
How to answer: Provide your company's full legal name as it would appear on contracts or legal documents. Do not use abbreviations unless they are part of your legal name.
