Exporting the knowledge base

Your knowledge base is a significant asset. It represents how your organisation has decided to describe its security posture, built up over every questionnaire you have answered — and it stays valuable whether or not you continue using ResponseHub.

So your content is yours. It is fully exportable at any time, in a format you can use elsewhere.

  1. Go to Knowledge Base and select Import / Export.

  2. Select Export as CSV.

The file downloads with every item in your knowledge base.

The export carries more than an import accepts, so it is a complete record rather than only the fields you can bring back in:

Column Contains
question The question
answer The approved answer
explanation The explanation, where one exists
auto_answer yes or no — the item’s sync setting
framework The framework the question came from, if recorded
code The framework’s code for the question, if recorded
category_name, category_code The item’s category — see how items are categorised
area_name, area_code The item’s area
created_at, updated_at When the item was created and last changed

The first six columns match the CSV import format, so an export can be edited and imported back in.
